is true that laptops are less desktop full than a full desktop because laptops use less power than a desktop computer. So smaller components mean less power is needed to make them work…
Most components in a desktop are easily removable, making it easier to upgrade and since desktop cases are usually much bigger they’re easier to work in when doing upgrade work, a wide variety of laptops are upgradeable too but there are parts like CPU and GPU.
Some laptops with slim form factors do have memory and SSDs soldered into the mother-board with less thermal pipes so the clock speeds are pretty low and so on the numbers of cores, that’s the recipe for poor performance laptop even so it’s still capable of normal daily usage.
So lets compaire the performance of each side to have a better over all idea:
PCs these days are far more powerful generation after generation in every way Intel has revealed the 6 core CPUs and i9 series the clock speed and the numbers of the cores are going up so quickly.
Desktop processors are a little bit larger in size, but this also means the desktop processors can be more powerful than laptop processors. New, advanced processors on the market are typically available in desktop computers first.
in other side, laptop processors have nearly caught up to desktop processors, but are still limited when compared to desktop processors. Gaming laptops can have equal performance but have a much higher price.
Also, a Desktop CPU can draw much more power from the wall than a laptop can from a battery. A Laptop is also designed to use the LEAST amount of power it can when on battery. This means the laptop will clock itself to the slowest speed it can when it doesn’t have immediate work. It will quickly ramp up when you click something.
Even the GPU Nvidia always has the “m” letter at the end of it series like GTX960m that “m” is for degranulate the mobile card from the full Nvidia card because m version is far away in term of performance compared to a full desktop version but now after the 1000 series that gap has shrunk in so they removed the “m” letters so they bump the performance up enough to get close to a desktop level and now the mobile version is almost powerful as the full version founded in the full version.
